Pfeiffer Wines

Pfeiffer Wines is a family owned and operated winery, located within the historic Rutherglen region. In the 1880’s Rutherglen was producing approximately a third of all wine in Australia, and in 1878 an All Saints wine wins Australia’s first international gold medal at the Paris Exhibition and the Rutherglen region was off and running.

In 1984 Chris and Robyn Pfeiffer purchase the winery from Seppelts and have restored and ressurected it to its former glory.

Chris and Robyn’s daugher Jen is now the chief winemaker, and is seriously good. She makes some stunning red wines which are probably some of the best value in the country.

This quote sums up how good Pfeiffers wines and Jen’s winemaking is:

“Jen has amassed over 300 medals and 12 trophies for Pfeiffer Wines in the past decade she has worked for the winery, plus had her wines nominated twice for export wine of the year.”

These are seriously worth a try.

A light rosé with intense strawberry aromas, an absolute stand out Rose that will convert those who are unsure. What I love about this is how well balanced it is. Its not too sweet like some Roses, its a drier style, and I just love this by itself as a pre-dinner drink.

Definitely something to get out in summer when you want to impress a couple of friends.
